As Proceedings editor, I would like to thank all of those who have generously supported and contributed to the preparation of this Conference Proceedings. My first thanks go to the authors who took the time and commitment to generously share their ideas, passions, and insights. This is especially true of the authors preparing their documents in a language that was not their native tongue. I sincerely thank you for your patience and continual energy as we moved together through the editing process.

Next, I shout a hearty appreciation to the forty reviewers who took time out of their busy schedules to work with the authors and me in assuring the highest quality possible for all readers. Their expertise, their sense of rigor, and their kindness made this process a joy. I feel so extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to “know” all of these wonderful folks and I look forward to working with each and every one of them in the future. I owe them each a huge debt of gratitude.

The publishing of the Proceedings with free, online access could not have happened without the tireless expertise and efforts of Belinda Santos, Master of Arts student at Texas Woman’s University. She had the daunting task of learning how to publish through the maze of “red dots,” a system for entering information through the TWU Website. Her abilities were nurtured by the skillful and humorous web design team of Gavin DeCuir and Nancy Gotcher. Visiting with these three at the TWU web office was a refreshing and entertaining reprise – they made work fun!

I also want to thank the Department of Dance at Texas Woman’s University for giving me the time and space for this enterprise. They generously offered the dance web site for the Conference Proceedings home and supported the huge amount of work involved in the many facets of getting the document up and running. Penny Lewis, our dance administrative assistant, and Laura Hensley, our dance secretary, further provided their wisdom and expertise by not only giving technical help, but also offering their time for the telling of my editing stories.

Lastly, we could not have these Proceedings without the efforts of the World Dance Alliance-Americas. WDA-A President Jin-Wen Yu and Ereck Jarvis provided needed support, information, and photos to bring the document to life. But most importantly, these Proceedings could not be in existence without the amazing effort WDA-A put forth in creating the opportunities to share information at the 2010 Global Summit in New York City.
