Computer Lab

The Computer Lab (6601) houses 120 individual workstations, four high-volume printers, and a scanning station.  Four over-sized monitors are available to encourage collaboration and group work. Portable desk stations with floor-accessed power outlets are available for students who choose to work on their own laptops.

A lab assistant is stationed at the front desk during most open hours to provide student assistance. Support is also available in the adjacent ISS office suite during regular business hours. The computer lab is available for use during building hours.

Lab computers feature the following software and tools:

• Windows 7
• Office 2010
• SPSS 15
• Internet Explorer 8
• Headphones - on select computers 

In addition, lab computers feature the following discipline specific programs:

• Clinical nursing software - on all computers
  • Essentionsl of Cardiac Rhythym Recognition
  • Lippincott Williams & Wilkins ClinSims
  • MEDI-SIM simulations
  • Saunders Clinical Wisdom & Intervention Critical Care
  • Prentice Hall Skills Packages
• Visual Health Information Kit -on select computers
• PhysioTools - on select computers

Cyber-Cafe

Located on the 3rd floor, the Cyber-Cafe has eight computer stations for general student use.

Computer Kiosks

Computer Kiosks are located adjacent to elevator lobbies, providing convenient internet access for looking up university information and checking email.

Support

The Dallas Support Team is available to answer student questions and provide in-person technical assistance. The ISS office is staffed between 7 am - 7 pm Monday - Friday.  Students may also contact the IT Help Desk by phone (940-898-3971) or online chat.  Click here for IT Help Desk information and hours.
