STORYTELL Directions

General Info

Welcome! STORYTELL, sponsored by the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas is a forum for discussion about storytelling. All persons interested in storytelling are invited to participate: professional storytellers, amateur storytellers, people concerned with the rich history of storytelling, people who enjoy listening to stories, and those who speculate about the place of storytelling in the 21st century. The list reflects viewpoints from around the world of issues and topics concerning the storytelling community. STORYTELL serves as a source of information on conferences, workshops and events as well as a place to ask (and answer) questions about the origins and variations of stories, the business of storytelling, or organization of storytelling events.

STORYTELL has more than 500 subscribers worldwide, so subscribers receive a lot of mail, as many as 40-80 e-mail messages every day! Read your e-mail frequently. Set the option to receive STORYTELL in digest form to receive STORYTELL messages just once a day. To temporarily stop mail delivery, set the no-mail function. Remember: STORYTELL is a prolific list. A full e-mail mailbox cannot receive any e-mail from anyone and error messages are sent to other people sending you mail. STORYTELL's software is programmed to automatically remove subscribers from the discussion list whose mailboxes are filled to capacity.

All administrative requests to Storytell, including to subscribe to and to unsubscribe from Storytell, and to receive a list of commands, are sent To:  majordomo@lists.twu.edu
