Texas Woman's University is proud to announce the Dual Library/Health Studies Degree. We are the only university in the nation to offer this dual master's program, which combines the specialties of the School of Library and Information Studies and the Department of Health Studies. At TWU, the School of Library and Information Studies prepares students for leadership roles in the information professions, including careers in librarianship and mass communications, and as information specialists in a variety of other roles in private and public agencies. The Department of Health Studies, College of Health Sciences, prepares students for leaderships positions in the disciplines of health education and health promotion. Students learn to assess the health needs of populations; plan, design, implement and evaluate health education programs; and serve as resource persons for health-related information.
Students who pursue this dual program will attain two degrees: Master of Library Science and Master of Science in Health Studies. Graduates of the program will possess specialized combinations of expertise and be prepared to address social needs stemming from the rapid evolution of information technologies in our versatile job market and information profession. They will also contribute to the resolution of conflicts relating to health policy.

Admission requirements:
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 hours of bachelor's degree coursework.
- A preferred minimum of 450 on the verbal portion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); and, for international students, a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
- Professional vita indicating appropriate academic background and professional and volunteer experience for master's study in health studies.
- Two recommendations completed within the past 12 months by faculty members, academic advisers, or employers.
- A 300-word written essay.
- Admission to both programs
