Links of Interest The organizations, publications, and professional development resources included in the following pages provide insight into our professional world. These resources will help students keep abreast of current trends in librarianship, complete coursework, and find employment. - As stated on the ALA home page, the American Library Association provides leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.
- Council of Library and Information Resources is a non-profit organization concerned with the preservation and access of information. The site includes information about the CLIR publications and current projects.
- Google can be used to research many different topics relevant to librarianship. And the advanced search feature will allow you to practice Boolean searching techniques!
- Institute of Museum and Library Services provides grant funding to further learning and innovation in libraries.
- The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions sponsors conferences and publications with a global focus. This is also a wonderful resource for those looking for scholarships or grant monies.
- In addition to housing interesting exhibits, the Library of Congress site includes a section specifically for librarians that includes information on many subjects including cataloging and collection development.
