Pioneer Alert
The TWU Pioneer Emergency Notification information will be used to send emergency communications to you about campus safety situations, evacuation, or campus closings due to inclement weather or other situations. Get alerts texted to your phone!
When you register for classes, you will see a Department of Public Safety hold. You will be instructed to go into the Pioneer Alert system through WebAdvisor to register your contact information or opt out of receiving emergency notifications from the university. When you complete the Pioneer Emergency Notification form, the hold will be lifted from your account. For more information and answers to frequently asked questions, visit the TWU Department of Public Safety's website.

Stuck in Denton because of bad weather?
We have some tips!
- Call or go to Housing (940) 898-3676. If there is severe weather, they will allow students to stay in the dorms (as long as there is room) for approximately $50 per night. (Housing also allows commuters to stay in guest rooms for up to 3 nights a week if needed. You must make your reservation a week in advance by calling (940) 898-3676 and prepay to keep the reservation.)
- Ask a friend if you can stay over
- Book a hotel near campus
