The TWU Speech-Language Pathology graduate program is well known for its outstanding faculty and  clinical experiences.  Students are required to enroll for six semesters of clinical practicum.  Practicum experiences are during the day, Monday- Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.  During the first year, students are usually, assigned to practicum 2 days a week.  During the 3rd- 6th semesters, students may attend 3-4 days depending on the placement.  Students obtain initial clinical practicum experience at the TWU clinic and in the Lewisville ISD.  Students are assigned to practicum at the Stroke Center-Dallas in their third or fourth semester. After successful completion of the Stroke Center-Dallas, students are eligible for externships in clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, ECI and other sites in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  Students also attend monthly practicum meetings.
