TWU’s Second Annual New Teachers Academy took place on the Denton campus on Tuesday, July 21. The NTA focuses on providing tailored professional development activities to support our recent graduates as they enter the teaching profession. The free, one day workshop consisted of topic sessions, forums and speakers addressing the relevant issues that new teachers face in the classroom. The Keynote Speaker for the opening session was Mrs. Devin Moss, a 2014 graduate of Texas Woman’s University who, in her first year of teaching first grade at Lewisville Elementary School, was named the school’s 2014-2015 outstanding teacher.

Other sessions addressed topics such as Tips & Tricks to Survive Your First Year of Teaching, Utilizing Google Classroom, and Supporting High Quality Instruction for English Language Learners..
