About the Director

Patti A. Hamilton, RN, PhD, nationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of nonlinear science in nursing and the social sciences, serves as Director of the Center for Nonlinear Science at Texas Woman's University. She is the Principal Investigator for a National Institutes of Health AREA Grant that used nonlinear science for the purpose of analyzing births to teenagers in Texas. Dr. Hamilton has collaborated with Dr. Bruce J. West, Director of the Center for Nonlinear Science at the University of North Texas, on numerous articles, presentations and other funded proposals. In 1996, Dr. Hamilton was an Invited Convener of Four Sessions on Chaos Theory and Methods at the Fourth Annual International ISA Conference on Social Science Methodology at Essex, United Kingdom. Dr. Hamilton serves on the Editorial Review Boards for the journals Chaos and Complexity in Nursing and Nonlinear Dynamics, Psychology, and Life Sciences.
