The department offers several scholarships ranging from $200 to $1,500 per academic year to undergraduate and graduate chemistry majors.  These scholarships are awarded to first time in college, transfer, and continuing students.  Scholarships can be awarded on the basis of overall GPA and GPA in chemistry courses, financial need, or other criteria specified by the scholarship.  Some of the scholarships carry the requirement that the recipient do research with a faculty member.  For transfer and continuing students, the applicant should present a GPA of at least 3.00, overall and in chemistry coursework.

Application forms for scholarships are available in the Department Office.  The deadline for receiving applications is March 15.  Awards are announced April 1.  A portion of the department's scholarship funds are reserved and designated for incoming freshmen chemistry majors.

The University catalog also provides you with a considerable amount of information on grants and non-departmental scholarships. These are administered by the Financial Aid Office.
