Got a business idea? We're here to help!
Have you dreamed of starting your own business? Or, are you already working on a business idea and need support to take the next step?
The staff of TWU's Center for Women in Business wants to help you make your dream of independence and success come true. We offer free tools and resources, as well as mentoring and encouragement.
Every business is different, but we know how to get you started in the right direction. Contact us to learn more.
Our scholarships have closed for the 2017-18 Academic Year. We look forward to you applying in the Spring of 2018 for the 2018/19 Academic Year! If you have any questions before then, please feel free to contact us.
Looking for a way to pay for part of your studies while developing your new business idea? Apply to be a Minerva Scholar.
The Center offers annual scholarships up to $1,000 for both undergraduate and master's level students. No matter where you live now, you are eligible to apply if you plan to attend TWU and open a business in Texas, as well as meet other eligibility requirements.
This scholarship is non-discipline specific. Select any major offered at TWU — from kinesiology to nursing, from teaching to nutrition. If you have a business in mind that builds off the bachelor's or master's degree you will earn at TWU, we encourage you to apply for the Minerva Scholarship.
This scholarship program offers several benefits to help you become a small business owner:
- Certification in innovation
- Business plan development with help from a mentor
- One-on-one coaching
- Specialized training and workshops
We've already awarded 12 Texas Woman's students with the first Minerva Scholarships. Learn more about these future Texas business owners.
The Center hosts events every month with you in mind. Check out our Workshops & Seminars for details on the various activities offered, many of them free for TWU students.
We also have a mentoring network, if you are looking for someone to bounce ideas off of or to talk to and get advice. Please contact us for more information about how to get matched with a mentor.
