Welcome to the Center for Women in Business
The State of Texas established TWU's Center for Women in Business in 2015 to fulfill the goal of making the Lone Star State #1 in the United States for women-owned businesses. TWU is now Texas' only university with a focus on female entrepreneurs.
Our reach extends beyond TWU's three campuses in Denton, Houston and Dallas. Already, The Center for Women in Business has been involved in events in Frisco, Plano, Austin and San Antonio, with plans of expansion across Texas.
Seed Money Available for Faculty Research
TWU's Center for Women in Business provides seed money for TWU faculty to conduct rigorous research about women innovators and business owners. Funding will be provided, in various amounts, for research (total of up to $10,000 awarded biannually). Walk-In Wednesdays are back!
Drop in Old Main 112 to visit with Nancy J. Hong between 9 a.m. and noon, or 1-4 p.m. to discuss your business idea. Nancy can help you sort out the details, pair you with a mentor, get you started on a business plan and provide ideas for funding, training, certifications and networking opportunities.
Did you know...
The Center for Women in Business recently funded a partnership between TWU and the Dallas Women’s Foundation to compile new research about barriers affecting women’s ability to positively advance in the Texas economy.
