Lisa Garza

Lisa joined the TWU family in 2016 as Director of the newly branded Career Connections Center. She brings a wealth of career services knowledge and experience, as well as previous experience with residential life and service learning, from positions at both UT Arlington and UT Dallas. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Science in Social Work from UT Arlington, and she dreams about one day pursuing a doctorate. Lisa and the Career Connections Center staff are eager to help TWU students pursue their dreams and achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Sherri Williams

Sherri earned a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education from the University of North Texas (UNT). She is also an Alumnus of TWU, where she received her Master’s in Counseling and Development.  Sherri has served in several roles in the Career Connections Center, from Career Counselor, to Assistant Director of Career Services, and currently as Assistant Director of Employer Relations.  Prior to working in the Career Connections Center, Sherri worked in the TWU Human Resources Department in Employment and has previous higher education experience with UNT and Navarro College.  Sherri really enjoys assisting students with their career development and connecting them with employers.     

Elizabeth MacDonald
Career Consultant, College of Arts & Sciences

Elizabeth has a background in higher education, social services, and human resource administration, with a career that has focused on helping others reach their employment and career development goals.  She received her Master of Science in Global eLearning from Texas A&M University – Commerce, and her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Stephen F. Austin State University.   Prior to coming to TWU, she worked in human resource administration for global companies in the automotive and oil and gas industries.  She has worked at TWU for over 10 years and began her career at TWU coordinating the student employment program.  Elizabeth has a passion for training students to grow personally and professionally for career success and is excited to serve the students and alumni of TWU as a Career Consultant.   

 

Amber Coffee
Career Consultant, College of Health Sciences and Undeclared Majors

 Amber was born and raised in Mississippi where she attended Mississippi State University for her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She went on to pursue her Masters of Science degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While at Mississippi State University, Amber gained experience in helping students through many opportunities within Housing and Residence Life, Union Operations and Facilities Management, Community Counseling Services, and Career Services. Her experiences have prepared her for her current role as a Career Consultant here at Texas Woman’s University. Amber is truly thrilled to be in a position to assist and guide students who might be wrestling with career issues and concerns.

Glenn Jensen
Career Consultant, School of Management/Health Systems Management

Glenn attended the University of North Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Glenn has dedicated most of his career to helping people launch, reclaim, or redirect their career paths. In higher education, he has worked in residence life and in nearly all facets of university and college career centers. As a corporate university recruitment program manager with Fujitsu North America Inc., he developed and implemented a university relations program with a footprint that covered Canada and the U.S.  In higher education he has worked for the University of North Texas, North Central Texas College and is happy to again be with TWU! Glenn has been a long time Denton area resident where he and his daughter enjoy the abundant outdoor and cultural activities of the region.  

Marie Zubiate
Career Consultant, College of Nursing and College of Professional Education

Marie attended Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She continued at TTU to receive her Master's of Education in Counselor Education with a focus in Community Counseling. Marie has worked in various student service and community settings in Lubbock, El Paso, and the Dallas area. She enjoys assisting students in their career exploration, and connecting students to community resources. Marie is currently a Career Consultant for the TWU Career Connections Center. She is pursuing licensure to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Marie grew up in El Paso, TX. She speaks Spanish, and loves to read and travel.

Hamaria Crockett
Career Consultant, Dallas Center

Hamaria joined the TWU family in August 2016 as a Career Consultant. For many years Hamaria has been busy helping clients discover their career dreams. She has a knack for helping individuals uncover their talents and bring them to life. Her expertise includes career counseling, job search coaching, resume writing, assistance with career and job changes, training, and business consulting. As an experienced human services educator and counseling psychologist, Hamaria received her undergraduate and graduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and her PhD from Capella University. Hamaria has an irresistible personality that helps individuals embrace the quest for meaningful work.

Career Advising

We now offer drop-in career advising hours! Come in and meet one-on-one with Career Connections Center staff for a quick resume critique or to get answers to your career-related questions. Please drop in on:

  • Mondays, 1:30pm-3:30pm
  • Tuesdays,  9am-11am
  • Wednesdays, 10am-12pm
  • Thursdays, 2:30pm-4:30pm
  • Fridays, 11am-1pm 

No appointment needed. Service is on a first-come, first-served basis.
