ENROLLING: All retirement eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) defined benefit plan. Some faculty and administrators will also be eligible to participate in the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) in lieu of TRS. Those who are ORP eligible are notified upon beginning employment. To enroll in a voluntary 403(b) please contact an authorized provider. For 457 enrollment forms please visit the deferred compensation website.
CHANGING BENEFICIARIES:To change your beneficiary for the your retirement or savings plan, contact your vendor directly. Teacher Retirement System participants can call 800-223-8778, Optional Retirement and Savings Plans Participants please see the attached list for vendor information
INCREASE/DECREASE OR STOP VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS:To apply, increase your monthly deduction, reduce the monthly deduction or stop contributions please visit Retirement Manager.
AN ACCOUNT:Teacher Retirement System of Texas participants can withdraw their account upon termination of employment using the following form TRS6. Members of the Texas Optional Retirement Program can withdraw their 403(b) accounts at time of termination. To withdraw an ORP account, you must contact the vendor directly. Voluntary Tax Sheltered Accounts 403(b) and 457 can be withdrawn when a person has a distributable event. For a list of those events please refer to the 403 (b) plan document, the 457 plan website or contact the vendor.
