Offering a bachelor of science in aviation science, the Doswell School of Aeronautical Sciences provides comprehensive flight and ground training and a well-rounded academic curriculum. While you work toward your licenses, you’ll gain knowledge in subjects like aviation law, weather and aerodynamics. Apply for Admission

There are two steps to apply for the Aviation Science program at TWU. A student will not be considered an official Aviation Science student until BOTH steps are completed.

  1. Apply and complete the application for undergraduate admission to TWU. 
  2. Attend the mandatory Aviation Science Information Session. Parent/guardians/spouses are encouraged to attend as well.

Meeting university admission standards does not guarantee Aviation program entry.

Aviation enrollment is capacity-limited and readiness-limited. 

Admission Cycles 

  • Spring 2027 admission cycle: Closes on Dec. 4, 2026
  • Fall 2027 admission cycle: July 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027
  • Spring 2028 admission cycle begins June 1, 2027
    • Deadline for spring 2028 admission is based on program capacity
  • Note: The Doswell School of Aeronautical Sciences does not have summer admissions

GPA and TSI Requirements

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to be considered for admission in the Aviation Science program 
  • Students must be TSI ready before the applied semester starts. This is to ensure enrollment eligibility for Composition I and College Algebra, which are corequisites of the Private Pilot Ground class. 
    • If an accepted student is not TSI ready before the semester starts, they will be deferred to the next semester.
Aviation Science Information Session

Join us for our next session on November 13, 4 p.m.

Note: These sessions will occur monthly at 4 p.m. All new students MUST attend an Aviation Science Information Session before being allowed to register for Aviation Science courses or being assigned a flight slot.

The TWU Aviation Science program is not currently included on the list of F-1 eligible degrees.

Campus Tour Disclaimer 

  • The Doswell Flight Center is not included in the TWU campus tour. At this time, our Aviation team does not have the capacity to provide individual tours of our Flight Center.
  • Prospective students are welcome to stop by the Flight Center (5050 Warbird Dr., Suite 110, Denton, TX 76207) during our operational hours, which are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Please note that an approved ID badge is required to enter the Flight Center, so you will need to ring the doorbell at the front entrance. If our staff or student workers are available, they may be able to show you around.
