Hometown: Truth or Consequences, NM

High School: Hot Springs

Previous School: N.M. Military Institute

2003: Earned Lone Star Conference North Division Honorable Mention honors…the LSC North Defensive Player of the Week on September 22…also tabbed Denton Record-Chronicle Player of the Week…tied teammate Marci Brinkman with most games played at 126 of the team’s 128 on the season…led the team with 465 digs (3.69 per game), ranking seventh in the conference…tallied a career-best 30 digs in a Sept. 5 match at Fort Lewis.

PRIOR TO TWU: Earned an Associate’s Degree in liberal arts and physical education from New Mexico Military Institute in 2003...lettered in volleyball for two seasons...named All-Conference in 2002 and 2003 and All-Region in 2003.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in basketball, volleyball and softball at Hot Springs High School...tabbed All-District honorable mention as a sophomore and All-District as junior in volleyball...named All-State in 2001 as a senior while also being tabbed All-District and Most Valuable Player in basketball...also an All-District performer and Most Valuable Player in softball...member of the Hot Springs Honor Roll and earned an Academic Letter in 2001 ... high school volleyball coach was Maria Cruz.

PERSONAL: Paz was born on March 11, 1983 and is the daughter of Nelson and Christina Diaz…an speech pathology major...hobbies include outdoor activities, listening to music and playing the piano.
