2006: Proved to be a consistent contributor for the Pioneers in 2006...started 16 matches and played in 94 games...totaled 116 kills, 59 digs, 37 blocks and 137 points...recorded a season-high 10 kills in five-game win vs. Midwestern State on Oct. 24...tallied 4 blocks in five-game loss on Oct. 7 vs. Abilene Christian...named to the 2006 Lone Star Conference North Division Commisioner’s Honor Roll.
2005: Schaffner played in 90 games … put down 154 kills … recorded 228 digs … had nine double-digit dig games including an impressive 32 digs in four-game victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State … recorded a season-best 13 kills in three-game loss to Texas Wesleyan.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated as valedictorian of her class from Henrietta in 2005 ... a multi-sport athlete, she lettered in volleyball, basketball, tennis, track and softball as a Bearcat ... as a senior and captain, she led her team to victory in the area and regional quarterfinals. ... named to the all-district and all-state Texas Girls Coaches Association teams and was the MVP of district 5-2A ... picked for TGCA all-star team ... played club volleyball for Wichita Falls Red River ... named academic all-district in all sports ... president of National Honor Society ... named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
PERSONAL: Sharon Marie was born on June 5, 1987 and is the daughter of Glenn and Laurie Schaffner ... a psychology major ... enjoys singing, scrapbooking and working with children.
