DIAZ NAMED LONE STAR CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE
PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

DENTON, TX—Texas Woman’s University volleyball player Paz Diaz (Truth or Consequences, NM/N.M. Military Institute) has been named Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the week of Sept. 15-21, 2003 because of her play in the Southwest Regional Challenge this past weekend. Diaz, a junior defensive specialist, totaled 55 digs (4.58 per game) in the Pioneers three matches. She turned in a team-high 26 digs during TWU’s victory over Drury on Saturday, Sept. 20. She is currently ranked third in the conference with an average of 4.09 digs per game and has 184 total in 45 games played.

The Pioneer volleyball team is on the road tonight as they face St. Edward’s University at 7:00 p.m. in Austin, Texas. TWU will participate in the Lone Star Conference Crossover on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26-27 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They will play Abilene Christian at 1 p.m. and Angelo State at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, then face Tarleton State at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
