ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM

The Pioneer Sports Medicine Center is a full-service athletic training facility housed in the south east wing of Pioneer Hall. The training room is equipped with 1300 square feet of space to meet the needs of our athletics program.

Each professional staff member has an individual office space with complete on-line computer capabilities. The taping/service area can efficiently handle the preparation needs of six athletes at one time. The custom-designed taping tables also serve as the primary storage area, capable of holding several cases of tape and supplies.

The treatment/evaluation section of the room spans the length of the facility, including seven treatment tables and multiple supporting therapeutic modalities. Our modality inventory includes an ultrasound unit, one electrical stimulation unit, one ultrasound/stimulation combination machine, and a multi-pack hydrocollator heating unit. The hydro-therapy area extends the treatment capabilities of the program. Included are two full-body emersion whirlpools, one extremity whirlpool, one upright freezer, and an ice machine with a storage capacity of 1500 pounds of ice.
