PIONEER
SOCCER ADDS FIVE PLAYERS TO 2003 ROSTER

Benatar announced the
signing of five new players to national letters of intent
for the 2003-2004 academic school year. The new players
are Carrie Carlson (Dallas, Tex./Lutheran H.S.), Nicole
Godlewski (Arlington, Tex./Martin H.S.), Mandy Lambert
(The Colony, Tex./The Colony H.S.), Stephanie McCool (Midlothian,
Tex./Midlothian H.S.) and Natalie Reyes (Arlington,
Tex./Lamar H.S.).
Carlson
is a 5-8 defender who lettered four years on the Boy's Varsity
soccer team at Lutheran High School in Dallas,
Texas (Lutheran H.S. does not have a girls team). She was
the first freshman girl in Warriors history to score a goal
on the boy's varsity team. Carlson earned All-State and First
Team All-District honors at defender in 2002. She has played
club soccer with four different teams in high school, most
recently with the Andromeda Club `85 team coached by Alan
Platts. The daughter of Dave and Rosemarie Carlson of Dallas,
Tex., she is
a lifeguard and referee at her local YMCA. Carlson is also
a skills coach for a 10 and under girls soccer team and is
a very active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Youth
Group. Other activities she was involved in include being
a member of the choir, yearbook staff and the Auction Committee.
Carlson plans to major in Liberal Arts at TWU.
Godlewski
is a 5-5 defender who lettered for two years at James Martin
High School in Arlington, Texas. She earned
First Team All-District 8-5A and Second Team Fort Worth
Star-Telegram All-Area honors as a junior while also
being named Defender-of-the-Year in her District. Godlewski
was selected as captain of the Warriors soccer team in 2002
and earned Athlete-of-the-Month honors. She currently plays
club soccer for the Dallas Texans '85 South team and has
been a member of the Texas Lightning '84 team during high
school. The daughter of Richard and Janice Godlewski of Arlington,
Tex., Godlewski plans
on majoring in Biology at TWU. She enjoys swimming, riding
motorcycles and working with computers in her spare time.
Lambert
is a 5-7 forward from The Colony High School where she was
a four-year letterwinner and starter for the Cougars soccer
team. In 1999, she earned District 6-5A All-Freshman team
honors while also being named as her high school's Newcomer-of-the-Year.
As a sophomore, Lambert was named First Team All-District
6-5A and Offensive Player-of-the-Year at The Colony H.S.
and followed that up by being named Second Team All-District
7-5A and Midfielder-of-the-Year as a junior. She was named
to the Mid-Cities All-Tournament team and won the Coaches
Award for her high school in 2001. Lambert was team captain
for the Cougars as a junior and senior. An excellent student
as well, Lambert will graduate in the Top 10% of her class
and was named to the National Honor Roll in 2001 and 2002.
She was a member of Who's Who Among American High School
Students all four years of high school. Lambert is the
daughter of Pat Lambert of The Colony, Texas.
McCool
is the daughter of David
McCool and Valerie Sheehy of Midlothian, Texas. She
lettered four years on the Panthers soccer team, earning
Second Team All-District honors as a freshman. In 2000 and
2001, McCool was tabbed First Team All-District and Offensive
MVP. She was named captain of the Midlothian High School
soccer team as a junior and senior. McCool is currently a
member of the Dallas Texans '86 South Division club team
and wants to major in Elementary Education at TWU in the
fall.
Reyes
is a 5-3 forward who lettered as a sophomore, junior and
senior in soccer at Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas.
She is a teammate with Stephanie McCool on the Dallas Texans
'86 South Division club team. Reyes was named Honorable Mention
All-District at forward in 2001. She
is the daughter of Julie and Albert Reyes of Arlington, Tex.
