Star Conference second team designated player...rode an 11-game
hitting streak into the LSC Tournament...hit a
grand slam at Texas Wesleyan on April 14...Denton Record-Chronicle
Player of the Week ending April 17...ranked sixth on the
team in hitting (.295) and RBIs (22)...ranked fifth with
seven doubles...tallied the winning run in the top of the
ninth against Tarleton State when she doubled to get on base
and scored off a single as TWU overcame a 4-0 deficit in
that game to win 8-5.
PRIOR TO TWU: Played two seasons at San Jacinto College...in
106 career games, she compiled a .312 batting average with
21 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 50 RBIs...she also
stole nine bases during her career...2003 captain, leading
the Coyotes to a third place finish in the Region 14 Tournament...a
member of the 2002 Region 14 All-Star Team...earned Conference
All-Region 14 honors in 2002 and 2003.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letterwinner for the Bellaire High
School softball and football team...named District MVP and
received all-district first team honors for softball all three
seasons...a Texas Scholar...played for the Texas Thunderbolts
in Houston from 2000-01.
PERSONAL: Nickname is “Gus”...a kinesiology major...coaches
the Texas Peppers Gold Team...enjoys writing short stories
and poetry, biking, reading mysteries and spending time with
family and friends.
