ENGLAND AND FLORES NAMED TO LONE STAR
ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Five Pioneers Recognized for Accomplishment in the Classroom

DENTON, Tex. – Texas Woman’s University senior softball players Dawn England (Graham, TX) and Teresa Flores (Corpus Christi, TX) were both selected to the Lone Star Conference South Division All-Academic Team for the third year in a row.

England posted a 12-3 record on the mound for the Pioneers as they advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional for the second time in two years. A four-year softball letterwinner, England graduated this May with a degree in communication sciences and will be pursuing a master’s degree in speech pathology/therapy.

Flores was the Lone Star Conference South Division Player of the Year in 2004. One of the most decorated players in Pioneer history, Flores holds or shares more than 30 school records and received the prestigious TWU President’s Award. She is in a five-year program within the Department of Kinesiology.

Three other Pioneer softball players were tabbed to the Lone Star South Division Commissioner’s Honor Roll: sophomores Courtney Martin (Lake Dallas, TX), Rachel Townsend (Jacksonville, AR) and Sarah White (Lewisville, TX). Martin is a mathematics major, while Townsend and White both are Kinesiology majors.
