CONFERENCE HITTER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Pioneers Prepare for 2004 Lone Star Conference Tournament
DENTON,
Tex. – Texas
Woman’s senior outfielder Nikki Boudreaux (Orange,
TX) went 9-of-15 (.600) for the week as the Pioneers
swept both Northwood and Tarleton State to earn herself Lone
Star Conference South Division Hitter of the Week honors.
Boudreaux
scored six runs and tallied five RBIs, including batting
in the winning run at the top of
the ninth inning against TSU for the 8-5 victory. In the
second game with the TexAnns, she stole three bases and was
5-for-5 in stolen base attempts for the week to improve her
total to a team-best 44 stolen bases on the season. The team
leader in sacrifice bunts, Boudreaux also hit four doubles
in the week’s four games.
Boudreaux becomes the fourth Pioneer to be
honored this season. Senior shortstop Teresa Flores
(Corpus Christi, TX) twice won Hitter of the Week
laurels, junior catcher Stefani
Easter (Troy, TX) won
the award last month and freshman Lindsy
Russ-Keller (Dickinson, TX) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
The Pioneers (37-11) will kickoff the 2004
LSC Softball Tournament Thursday at 7 p.m. against Northeastern
State. The tournament will be played at Southwest Park, 2800
W. Shady Grove Road, in Irving.
From
Denton, you would take I-35E South to Exit # 436 – TX-12-LOOP
South toward Irving/DFW Airport. Merge onto 183 West toward
Ft. Worth. Take the Belt Line
Road South exit ramp and merge onto N. Belt Line Road. Travel
about two miles and turn left on W. Shady Grove Road. Southwest
Park will be on your right.
