SOFTBALL OPENS 2004 LSC TOURNAMENT AGAINST NORTHESTERN

Pioneers Earn South Division No. 2 Seed
DENTON,
Texas – The Texas Woman’s University softball
team earned a berth to the 2004 Lone Star Conference as the
No. 2 seed in the South Division. The Pioneers (37-11, 10-6
LSC) will face North Division No. 3 seed Northeastern State
(26-17, 12-8 LSC) on Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at Southwest
Park in Irving, Texas.
The
winner of the opening game will face the North Division’s
top seed, Midwestern State (31-12, 17-3 LSC) at 11 a.m. on
Friday, April 30. The 2004 champion
will be determined on Saturday, May 1.
TWU and Northeastern State have only met once before, when TWU defeated the
Lady Reds, 2-0, in the 2002 Lone Star Conference Leadoff Classic.
