RUN NOT ENOUGH IN LOSS TO
SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
Pioneers Drop 4-1 Decision in Conference Crossover
DURANT,
Okla. – Texas
Woman’s University senior Teresa Flores (Corpus
Christi, TX) hit a home run in the first at-bat
of the game, but TWU lost a 4-1 decision to Southeastern
Oklahoma.
SOSU pitcher Christina Cearley held the Pioneers
scoreless the rest of the game. Sophomore infielder Amanda
Arnold (The Colony, TX) went 2-for-3 at the plate,
and junior Lauren Gustartis (Bellaire, TX) added
a single to left field.
“We’re just not playing well right
now,” said TWU head coach Dianne Baker. “We
have to figure out what is going on and decide as a team
what they want to do. Right now we are not hitting the ball
or making plays when we need them. We’ve gotten ourselves
in a spot we don’t want to be in, so we’ll see
the character of this team as the season continues.”
The No. 11 Pioneers (29-9) will play a doubleheader
at Texas Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 14 at 3 p.m.
