EARNS CONFERENCE HITTER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Junior Catcher Drills Two Home Runs in LSC Opening Series
DENTON,
Tex. – Junior catcher Stefani
Easter (Troy, TX) went 10-for-18 (.555) at the plate
to lead the Texas Woman’s softball team to a 4-2
record and earn herself Lone Star Conference Hitter of
the Week honors.
Easter
had a total of seven hits in the Pioneers’ conference
opener with Texas A&M-Kingsville over the weekend, including
two home runs, a triple and a double. She also stole a base
earlier in the week against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Easter ranks third on the team with a .393 season batting
average and is second on the team with 24 RBIs.
Easter
follows in the footsteps of senior shortstop Teresa
Flores (Corpus Christi, TX), who won the award in
the LSC South Division the past two weeks in a row.
The
Pioneers (22-5) host Northwest Missouri State for a non-conference
doubleheader on Wednesday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
