RUSS-KELLER
NAMED LONE STAR CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Freshman Has Already Earned Three Shutouts
DENTON,
Texas – Texas Woman’s University freshman
softball pitcher Lindsy
Russ-Keller (Dickinson,
TX) earned Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the
Week honors.
Russ-Keller
struck out eight batters and allowed just one hit during
a 2-0 complete game victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State
last week. The effort marked her third shutout of the season
and improved her season record to 4-2. She has a 1.67 ERA
and leads the team with 28 strikeouts.
The
Pioneers (10-2) are competing in the National Fastpitch Coaches
Association/ Schutt Sports Division II Lead-Off Classic this
weekend. They face Wayne State on Friday at 9 a.m., followed
by a 1:30 p.m. game with St. Edward’s.
