DENTON,
TXHead softball coach Dianne Baker announced
the signing of Lauren Gustartis (Bellaire, TX/Bellaire

at Texas Woman's University for the 2003-2004 academic school
year. Early signing period runs from November 13 through November

Lauren Gustartis has wanted to play for Texas Woman's
University since she was a junior in high school. We are very
excited to have her become a part of the program because of
the hitting power she brings to the plate, Baker said. Lauren is a physical player who can
play either first or third base.

playing two seasons at San Jacinto College. She earned Region
XIV Conference Honorable Mention honors at first base in 2002

co-captain for the Lady Gators this season. She was a three-year
letterwinner in softball at Bellaire High School and was tabbed
First Team All-District 17-5A every season. In 1999 and 2001,
Gustartis was named the District's Most Valuable Player.
