DENTON, TX--Pioneers' head softball coach Dianne
Baker announced the signing of Amanda Arnold (The Colony, TX/The
Colony H.S.), Courtney Martin (Lake Dallas, TX/Lake Dallas
H.S.), Jennifer Collins (Euless, TX/Forney H.S.), Nicole
Boudreaux (West, TX/Navarro J.C./Orangefield H.S.), Sarah
White (Lewisville, TX/Lewisville H.S.) and Amanda
Chambless (Collinsville, TX/Collins H.S.) to National
Letters of Intent at Texas Woman's University for the upcoming
2002-2003 academic year. The late signing period for softball
runs from April 10 through August 1, 2002.
Arnold is a true left-handed player who will probably
be turned into a first baseman. She is an honor student who
is very coachable and attacks the ball well. Martin is another
honor student who is a great athlete and has a heart bigger
than Texas. I will expect her to set the standard for the rebuilding
of our program, Baker said. Collins
will become a major leader on our softball team. She brings
a lot of power to the plate and is a natural at catcher and
infield positions.

who throws and bats from the left side of the plate. She graduated
this past May and lettered in softball all four years of high
school. She was named Honorable Mention All-District as a sophomore,
Second Team All-District as a junior and First Team All-District
in her senior campaign. An outstanding student, Arnold graduated
in the top 10 percent of her class and was a member of the
National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High
School Students. The daughter of Dwaine and Tina Arnold
of The Colony, Tex., she enjoys listening to music, reading
and riding motorcycles in her spare time.

basketball, track and softball at Lake Dallas High School from
1999-2002. She has been named MVP and First Team All-District

selected Denton County Female Athlete of the Year by the Greater
Denton Sports Commission, Outstanding Female Athlete of the
Year for Lake Dallas H.S. and named First Team Denton Record-Chronicle
All-Area. She caught 69 percent of base stealers and batted
.336 with six doubles, 22 RBIs and 22 runs scored in 2002.
Martin was also tabbed First Team All-District in volleyball
and basketball in her senior season. She placed third in the
1600 and 3200 meter runs at the District meet and third in
the 1600 at regionals. An outstanding student, Martin finished
third out of 182 in her graduating class and was a member of
the National Honor Roll, Who's Who in Sports and Who's
Who Among American High School Students. She is a National
English Merit Award winner and is a member of the United States

V and a Region V All-Star as a freshman. Collins was a four-year
letterman in softball, basketball and volleyball and also lettered
three years on the track team for Forney High School. She garnered
Newcomer of the Year honors for District 11-3A in 1996 and
followed that up with First Team All-District 12-3A honors
at catcher as a sophomore. Collins was named District Offensive

in her spare time and is planning on majoring in Adaptive Physical
Education at Texas Woman's University.
Boudreaux comes to our program with tremendous speed
and athletic ability. She will add to our speed in the outfield
and keep our running game in tact. White is a small athlete
who plays big and will also add more speed to the outfield, Baker
said. Chambless is an all-around athlete who can play
all nine positions on the field. She is a mentally tough player
who will help to set an example to the other new athletes on
the team.
Boudreaux comes to TWU after spending her freshman year at
Centenary College and her sophomore campaign at Navarro College.
She recorded a batting average of .439 with 41 RBI, 60 runs
scored and 78 stolen bases while earning her Associates Degree
in General Studies at Navarro. Boudreaux graduated from Orangefield

with a 3.4 GPA and plans to study Kinesiology at TWU. The daughter
of Bill Bulen and Julie Lallane of Lewisville, White enjoys
listening to music, playing sports and fishing during her spare
time.
Chambless
is a 5'8 pitcher who lettered in basketball,
volleyball, track and softball at Collinsville High School.
She helped lead the Pirates to three straight Regional Championships
and was named the District's Defensive Player of the Year as
a sophomore and junior. Chambless finished her senior campaign
by earning an ERA of 0.64 and a record of 20-6. She was named
