FLORES NAMED TO ALL-SOUTH CENTRAL
REGION FIRST TEAM

Junior catcher Stefani Easter
(Troy, TX) and senior
shortstop Teresa Flores
(Corpus Christi, TX) were
both selected to the 2004
Division II All-South Central
Region First Team, as selected by
all the regional softball
coaches.
Easter made an
impact in the Pioneers first game
of the NCAA Regional Tournament
with a home run and a triple. She
scored two runs in the tournament
opener – a 5-3 loss to Tarleton
State. Easter has led the team
most of the season with 12 home
runs and ranks second with 46
RBIs. The catcher has made 52
starts behind the plate and was
also selected to the Lone Star
Conference First Team.
Flores has had a
stellar four-year career with TWU
and currently holds or shares 30
school records. The 2004 Lone
Star Conference South Division
Player of the Year, Flores leads
the team with a .489 batting
average, 92 hits, 21 doubles, 10
triples and57 RBIs. She became
the first player since the TWU
softball team was reinstated in
1997 to hit for the cycle on
April 14 and was named to the
NFCA/Schutt Sports All-Tournament
Team in early March.
The Pioneers
(40-14) will face
Colorado-Colorado Springs at 1:30
p.m. on Friday.
