TWU SOFTBALL EARNS AT-LARGE
BERTH TO NCAA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
Pioneers Face Lone Star Opponent Tarleton State in Game One
DENTON, Tex. – The Texas Woman’s University
softball team will continue its season as the Pioneers qualified
for an
at-large bid to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament in San
Antonio this weekend.
The No. 3-seeded Pioneers (40-13) will face off first with No.
6 Tarleton State (28-15) at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6. The winner
advances to play No. 2 seed Angelo State (40-10) at 6:30 p.m.
TWU defeated Tarleton State twice at the end of the regular season,
8-5 and 4-2, in extra-inning games.
Top-seeded St. Mary’s University (45-10)
will host the double-elimination tournament, which also features
No. 4 Colorado-Colorado Springs
(35-11) and No. 5 Midwestern State (31-14).
