2005: Amber McMeans competed against Alaska before missing the rest of the season with a knee injury...posted scores of 9.525 and 9.350 on the vault in back-to-back meets at Alaska...a MIC and USAG Scholar-Athlete...member of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
2004: A three-time USAG All-American by earning the distinction on the uneven bars and balance beam at the 2004 Championships…placed seventh in the all-around against nationally-ranked programs Iowa, Oklahoma and Washington at the Cancun Invitational…finished fourth on the floor and sixth in the all-around (with season-best 38.100) at the Rocky Mountain Open…named Denton Record-Chronicle Athlete of the Week on Jan. 10…returning from an ankle injury, scored season-highs of 9.825 on bars, 9.800 on beam and 9.675 on vault against nationally-ranked LSU and Arizona on Feb. 23…a Scholastic All-Conference selection…recognized with Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women.
2003: USAG All-American on floor exercise...placed seventh in final USAG rankings as a freshman...holds the current school record on floor, scoring a 9.95 against Air Force on March 16...also scored a 9.875 on beam in that meet, which is still her personal best...made her collegiate debut as an all-arounder two days earlier in another meet against Air Force, scoring a 39.125...placed fourth out of seven in that meet with career-high scores of 9.725 on vault and 9.675 on bars.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 2002 and lettered in gymnastics for four years...was tabbed a National Elite Gymnast, High School All-America and All-State in the all-around all four years of high school...won the all-around at the Texas State High School Championships and at the Junior Olympics in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 2001...qualified for the USAG Level 9 Western Nationals in 2000 and 2001, placing fifth on the floor in 2001...won state titles on the beam in 2000 and 2001 and the uneven bars in 2002, setting new state records for both events...graduated with a 3.38 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, the National Art Honor Society and the A-Honor Roll at L.D. Bell...was a member of the Gym City Stars club gymnastics in Haltom City, Tex. from 1997-2001 and was coached by Debbie Williams at L.D. Bell High School.
PERSONAL: A psychology major...the daughter of Fred and Vicki McMeans...enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
