2004:
Dana Giametta earned her second USAG All-America honor on
uneven bars…was selected the Denton Record-Chronicle
Athlete of the Week following the USAG Championships…made
significant improvements on bars, posting new personal best
scores of 9.85 at the TWU Quad Meet in January and against
Air Force and BYU on Feb. 28…received All-Midwest Independent
Conference honors on vault…scored a career-best 9.80
on floor during the USAG Championships…recognized by
the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women
as a Scholastic All-American…also tabbed with USAG Scholar-Athlete
and Scholastic All-Conference honors…named to Who’s
Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
2003: Earned USAG All-America honors on the vault
with a 9.700...tied for sixth overall on that event...scored
her personal best
on the vault with a 9.775 at the Midwest Independent Conference
Championships March 29...recorded a career-high 9.700 on
the uneven bars in the Pioneers home opener with Oklahoma.
2002:
Won a permanent spot on the bars team during the final month
of regular season...recorded a season/career high of 9.675
on bars vs. Kentucky on March 15...exhibitioned on vault
during four meets scoring a season-high of 9.550... counted
toward
the team total during five meets.
2001: Exhibitioned on vault
and bars in her first collegiate season...recorded average
scores of 9.113 on vault and 9.400 on uneven bars.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated Terry High School in Rosenberg, Tex. in 2000...specialist
on vault and bars...competed for Cypress Academy Gymnastics
in Houston...won the bars title and placed second on the
vault at the Level 9 state meet in 2000...tied for second at
the
regional meet on bars...also won bars, vault, beam and all-around
titles at the Colorado Invitational and the Tulsa Co-ed Classic
this past year...also competed at Oni’s Gymnastics from
1995-98 and Katy Kips from 1994-95...coaches were Mike Hunsucker
at Cypress Academy, Oni Twilley at Oni’s Gymnastics
and Louie Morales at Katy Kips...was a member of the National
Honor
Society at Terry High School.
PERSONAL: A kinesiology major...likes
to run, swim, babysit and coach small children in gymnastics.
