MACNABB
TIES SCHOOL RECORD IN QUAD MEET
Pioneers Score Season Best on Floor Exercise
DENTON,
Texas – Texas Woman’s University junior Erin
MacNabb (Glenwood, MD) scored a 9.925 on the uneven
bars to tie her own school record in Friday’s regular
season home finale at Kitty Magee Arena.
The
Pioneers finished fourth overall with a score of 193.725.
No. 17 Missouri won the quad meet with a score of 197.475.
Kentucky placed second with 194.750, followed by Pennsylvania
with a 194.600.
Junior Rachel
Goddard (Scarborough, ONT) earned her season-high
on the bars with a 9.725, tied her personal best with a
9.85 on beam and tied for first on the floor with a 9.925.
The
Pioneers did earn their highest score as a team on floor
with a 49.100. Seniors Kristin Frogge (Cypress, TX) and Dana
Giametta (Brookshire, TX) both scored season highs
on floor with a 8.825 and 9.75, respectively. Junior Lauren
Kondikoff (Mesquite, TX) registered a new personal
best on floor with a 9.875.
“We
had some individual shining moments tonight, but at this
point it all comes down to team,” said TWU head coach Frank
Kudlac. “TWU didn’t perform well as
a team. The good news is that we had focused on floor all
week and we showed improvement. The bad news is that we are
still counting too many mistakes and that is frustrating.”
Juniors Jessica
Brozovich (Broomfield, CO) and Jennifer
Bolli (Rockwall, TX) had their shining moments
on vault, as Brozovich’s 9.875 and Bolli’s
9.7 were career-highs.
Tonight
was the last regular season home meet for the Pioneers. Next
week, they compete at the Midwest Independent Conference
Championships in Normal, Ill. TWU will return to Kitty Magee
Arena April 8-10 as co-host of the 2004 USA Gymnastics Men’s
and Women’s Collegiate National Championships.
