PIONEERS EARN BEST ROAD SCORE OF SEASON AT CENTENARY
Goddard and Rodriguez Earn Event Titles

SHREVEPORT, La. – Texas Woman’s University junior Rachel Goddard (Scarborough, ONT) and freshman Catherine Rodriguez (Coppell, TX) put in career performances to win the beam and vault rotations, respectively at Centenary Friday night. The Pioneers earned their highest score on the road this season of 192.100, but Centenary got the edge at 192.750.

Goddard earned a personal best 9.85 on beam to win the event for TWU, which scored its season-high 48.300 as a team. The first two Pioneer gymnasts fell during their routines, but the rest rallied as junior Jennifer Bolli (Rockwall, TX) scored her career-high with a 9.775. She was followed by Goddard, junior Lauren Kondikoff (Mesquite, TX) with a 9.675 and senior Kristin Frogge (Cypress, TX) who tied her career mark with a 9.825.

Rodriguez scored a personal best 9.675 as she introduced a new vault routine and won first place on the event.

“We are making progress and I am pleased to see how some of them stepped up,” said TWU head coach Frank Kudlac. “We counted falls on bars and beam, but hopefully we can fix that in the future. I think beam is shaping up to be a really good event for us. We are excited to come home for a great, great event on Monday with LSU and Arizona.”

The Pioneers return home to Kitty Magee Arena this Monday, February 23 for “Pack the Gym Night” as they host No. 10 LSU and 15th-ranked Arizona for a 7 p.m. meet.
