GYMNASTS DROP HOME OPENER TO CENTENARY
Jennifer Bolli Wins Floor with Career-High Score
DENTON,
Texas – TWU junior Jennifer
Bolli (Rockwall, TX) scored a career-high 9.775
in the floor exercise to place first in the event, but
the Pioneers could not get the team victory over visiting
Centenary.
Centenary
edged out TWU on every apparatus but vault to earn a 190.500-185.650
victory.
"Every competition you learn something and hopefully we learned something
tonight and can move on," said head coach Frank Kudlac. "The
good news is we have lots of opportunities in front of us to improve. There was
also a lot of potential shown in some of the people who did not compete, so maybe
in the future they will step up and be part of the rotation."
TWU,
a seven-time USAG Champion, will host the 2004 USAG Collegiate
National Championships April 8-10 at Kitty Magee Arena.
The
Pioneers are on the road next weekend at the Rocky Mountain
Open. They return to Kitty Magee Arena on Saturday, January
24 for a 7 p.m. quad meet
with the Air Force Academy, Oklahoma and Southern Utah.
