PIONEER GYMNASTICS
EARNS TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL SCHOLASTIC HONORS
DENTON, TX--The 2001-2002 Texas Woman's University
gymnastics team placed 16th in the 2002 National Association
of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Top 50 Scholastic
rankings with a team grade point average of 3.40. The NACGC/W
Top 50 ranks all women's gymnastics programs in the United
States in NCAA Divisions I, II, III. TWU's team GPA places
it first among Division II institutions.
“This is a great honor for our team and for Texas Woman's
University. It shows that our gymnasts are not only great athletes,
but great students in the classroom,” head coach Frank
Kudlac said.
Seven
Pioneers were named Scholastic All-Americans, finishing the
school year with a 3.50 GPA or better. From last year's
team, they are senior Michelle Hepner (West Chester, PA/Henderson
H.S.), junior Luci Romberg (Foxfield, CO/Cherry Creek
H.S.), junior Kim Holland (McKinney, TX/Allen H.S.), junior Stephanie
Loudat (Houston, TX/Cy-Falls HS), junior Brandi
Smith (Smithville, TX/Smithville H.S.), freshman Jennifer
Bolli (Rockwall, TX/Rockwall H.S.) and freshman Erin
MacNabb (Glenwood, MD/Notre Dame Prep.). This is the
second selection to the NACGC/W All-American list for Hepner,
Loudat and Holland.
