Jackie Fain
Assistant Coach

Jackie Fain is entering her sixth season as the chief assistant to head coach Frank Kudlac.

Fain has been remarkably successful at TWU. In 2005, she earned three Assistant Coach of the Year awards (from the USAG, NACGC/W, and MIC). In 2003, she won the USAG Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Fain began her coaching career in 1984 at Bluegrass Gymnastics in Lexington, Kentucky. During her three-year stint at Bluegrass, she helped send two gymnasts to the University of Kentucky on full scholarships. She then went on to coach from 1986-1993 at the Dubuque (Iowa) Gymnastics club, where she helped steer three gymnasts to TWU - Kelly Carr, Amy McFadden and Michelle Horsfall. Carr and McFadden would go on to become USAG All-Americans for the Pioneers. Fain also coached at Quincy Gymnastics Center in Quincy, Illinois (1993-95), Westside Gymnastics in Dubuque, Iowa (1995-98), Spectrum Gymnastics in Londonderry, New Hampshire (1998-2000) and at Achievers Gymnastics Center in Denton, Texas (2000-2002).

Fain is a former Level 10 judge who worked at the collegiate level for both the SEC and Big 12 conferences. She was also the meet referee for the 1998 Big Ten Championships and she judged at the 2001 Big 12 Conference Championships.

Fain graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1983 with a double major in physical education and interior design. She was a four-year letterwinner in gymnastics and was named team MVP for both the 1982 and 1983 seasons. In 1983, Fain became the Wildcats first ever nationally-ranked gymnast, finishing 16th in the all-around. Kentucky qualified for the NCAA Regional championships in three of her four seasons as a Wildcat, and in her senior year of 1983, she qualified as an individual in the all-around..

Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, Fain graduated from Hempstead (Iowa) High School and competed for the Dubuque (Iowa) Gymnastics Club. Fain and her husband Dan reside in Argyle. They have three children, Kinny, Aaron and Tedi.
