Directions to TWU Athletics Events
TO KITTY MAGEE ARENA AT PIONEER HALL
(Basketball, Gymnastics & Volleyball)
FROM DALLAS: Take Interstate I-35 East to Denton. Exit
at Loop 288 (Denton/McKinney exit) and turn right at the stoplight.
Stay on Loop 288 and follow the TWU signs to the Highway 380/McKinney
exit. Turn left on Highway 380, also known as University Drive.
Follow University Drive to Bell Avenue. You'll see the twin
residence hall towers in front of you. Turn left on Bell Avenue,
which takes you through the heart of campus.
FROM FORT WORTH: Take Interstate I-35 West to Denton.
I-35E and I-35W will merge and the first exit after this merge
is Highway 380 (Decatur/McKinney exit). There is also a sign
for TWU for this exit. Exit Highway 380 and take a right (380
is also known as University Drive). Follow University Drive
to Bell Avenue. You'll see the twin residence hall towers in
front of you. Turn right on Bell Avenue, which takes you through
the heart of campus.
FROM OTHER AREAS: U.S. Highway 380 is the major east-west
thoroughfare in Denton. Known in the city as University Drive,
this highway borders the northern edge of the TWU campus.
Kitty
Magee Arena is in Pioneer Hall, which is a very large three-story
brick building
with a gray domed rotunda located on Bell Avenue. For a Magee
Arena event, go east at the stoplight/crosswalk leading into the Pioneer Hall north parking lot.
You can enter through the north door and follow the signs to
the ticket gate. Additional parking is available by the tennis courts and new soccer field. Go east on Administration Drive off Bell Ave. Follow the road between the outdoor pool and Jones Hall. Take a left at the bottom of the hill and then a right. You'll see a large parking lot on the east side of the soccer facility and south of the tennis courts.
TO
TWU SOCCER FIELD
FROM DALLAS: Take Interstate I-35 to Denton. Take exit 464, which becomes Dallas Drive. Stay on Dallas Drive, which passes under a railroad bridge and curves to the right, where it becomes Bell Ave. Continue on Bell Avenue. After crossing McKinney Street, Bell Avenue will curve to the left (you must be in the left lane to make the turn). Ahead of you will be the TWU campus with its distinctive high-rise buildings. At the intersection of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive, turn right and drive through the parking lot between the outdoor pool (on the left) and Jones Hall (on the right). At the bottom of the hill you will veer left and the south end of the soccer field will be in front of you. Parking is available in the large lot to your right.
US Highway 380 is the major east-west thoroughfare in Denton. Known in the city as University Drive, it borders the northern edge of the TWU campus.
TWU's high-rise buildings are visible for miles, so keep an eye out for them as you approach Denton.
FROM FORT WORTH: Take Interstate 35W to Denton, exiting at University Drive (US 380). Turn right on University Drive. Follow University Drive to Bell Avenue, which runs through the TWU campus. Turn right on Bell Avenue. Turn left on Administration Drive and drive through the parkding lot between the outdoor pool (on the left) and Jones Hall (on the right). At the bottom of the hill, you will veer left and the south end of the soccer field will be in front of you. Parking is available in the large lot to your right.
TO
PIONEER FIELD
(Softball)
Softball competes in a venue on the east side of campus. To
reach Pioneer Field, take Bell Avenue to Administration
Drive. Go east on Administration Drive and proceed through
the parking lot between Jones Hall and the outdoor pool.
Veer left at the bottom of the hill and then turn right through
more parking to reach the large lot adjacent to the tennis
courts. Park in this lot. Take the sidewalk to the left of the tennis
courts.
Pioneer Field is behind these courts.
