DGL GYM
The moment you walk into the third floor gym in the Dance Gymnastics Laboratories Building, you know this is home for Pioneer Gymnastics. Pictures and banners lauding the accomplishments of gymnastics teams past and present fill every free space on the walls.

Although this wasn’t the first practice/competition site for the Pioneers. TWU used the Old Gym from 1980-84. The building was renovated in 1984-85 when lights, elevators, air conditioning and much more were added. During that season, the pioneers went back to the Old gym and even used Hubbard Hall - the University’s former dining facility - for vaulting! Then, in 1985, gymnastics returned to the DGL Gym. It served as the program’s competition site until 1998, when the Pioneers moved into Kitty Magee Arena for its regular season meets.

The training facilities consist of a spring, carpeted 42x42-foot floor exercise mat, five balance beams, two sets of uneven parallel bars and a single bar, a reflex vaulting platform, an above-ground tumbling and vaulting platform, numerous panel mats, landing mats and safety landing pits, and several pieces of exercise equipment.
