Thornburg joined the team in mid-December and played 21 games
for the Pioneers as a freshman walk-on...scored
a career-high seven points against Lone Star foe Midwestern
State on Jan. 27, hitting 2-of-3 field goals and 3-for-3
at the free-throw line...the guard went 4-for-4 at the stripe
to score four points, grab four rebounds and was credited
with four assists the week before against Abilene Christian.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2003 graduate of Mesquite High School ... lettered
three years in basketball and volleyball … named all-district
second team as a sophomore ... named all-district first team,
Defensive Player of the Year, Miss Assist (10-5A) and co-captain
her junior and senior year ... recieved all-academic honors
(1999-2003) ... played club basketball Lone Star Magic and
club volleyball for the Skyline Juniors … high school
coach was Patrice Gillenwater.
