WEST TEXAS A&M HANDS PIONEERS ANOTHER LOSS
Pioneers Conclude Road Trip Saturday at Eastern New Mexico

CANYON, Texas – The Texas Woman's University basketball team was handed a tough 108-44 loss from West Texas A&M on Thursday night.

Senior Lacey Pemberton (Hawkins, TX) scored seven of her team-high 11 points in the second half for the Pioneers.

"We just didn't take care of the ball," said TWU head coach Devin Gabbard. "We had 23 turnovers in the first half. We were lacking focus. We seemed to do everything we did not want to do and, especially when you're away from home, you pay the big price."

West Texas A&M improves to 19-3 on the season and stands in first place in the Lone Star Conference South Division with a 7-2 league mark.

The Pioneers (2-20, 1-8 LSC) will continue Conference play this Saturday, February 14 at Eastern New Mexico. Tip-off is 3 p.m.
