NORTHEASTERN STATE DEFEATS TWU
Pemberton Tallies Game-High 14 Points and Eight Rebounds

DENTON, Texas – TWU senior guard Lacey Pemberton (Hawkins, TX) sunk three of her four three-pointers in the second half for a game-high 14 points, but Northeastern State earned the 67-38 victory.

"We really struggled against their pressure," TWU head basketball coach Devin Gabbard said. "We haven’t seen that intensity all season and we just were not prepared for it. The more we struggled on the offensive end, the more fired up they became on both ends."

The Pioneers did make a fairly strong show on the boards as both Pemberton and teammate Emily Hartman (Mesquite, TX) each pulled down eight – six defensive – of TWU’s 32 rebounds.

Northeastern State improved to 9-1 on the season.

The Pioneers (1-8) welcome Central Oklahoma to Kitty Magee Arena for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Monday, January 5.
