2006: Played in 129 games as the Pioneers top defensive specialist...led TWU with 656 digs...had 15 matches of 20 or more digs, including a season-high 35 in a five-game loss to Cameron University on Oct. 14...posted a Pioneer high .944 serve reception percentage...also totaled 25 service aces, 56 assists, and 10 kills...selected as the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sep. 4-10...an honorable mention selection to the 2006 All-Lone Star Conference team.

PRIOR TO TWU: Marcus played two seasons at Baylor University. 2005: Appeared 25 of 32 matches, including 13 starts as a sophomore…Fifth on the team with 1.69 digs per game…Recorded three double-digit dig efforts…Posted a career-high 14 digs against Kansas State (10/15)…Had 13 digs at Texas A&M (10/19) and 10 against UTEP (9/17)…Served up a career-high four aces against Oklahoma (10/12). 2004: Played in six matches and 10 games as a freshman…Recorded at least one dig in all but one match…Tallied a season-high four digs at UT-San Antonio (10/31)…Registered her only service ace of the season and added three digs against Northwestern State (10/16)…Played in two Big 12 Conference matches, both against ranked teams: at No. 18 Kansas State and against No. 4 Nebraska.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from James Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas … a three-year starter and two-time captain as the setter for the Volunteers … as a senior, was named District 8-5A Setter of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year for the second time … a three-time first-team all-district selection … two-time team captain and team MVP … as a junior, named team offensive player of the year … as a sophomore, tabbed team defensive player of the year … also a four-year starter in softball … named to the all-area team and earned all-district honors as a sophomore, junior and senior … tabbed District 8-5A Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and two-time team defensive player of the year … the team offensive player of the year as a sophomore … off the court, graduated Cum Laude, was a member of the National Honor Society and earned the Principal's Award … also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteered at Camp Arlington.

PERSONAL: Heather Nicole was born on Dec 24, 1985 and is the daughter of Ginger and James Marcus...has a sister, Lauren, and a brother, Bryce … a government (Pre-Law) major.

Your Hobbies (outside of volleyball): Going to the pool, sleeping, going to the movies, reading, having fun
