KING CHOSEN AS A LONE STAR CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON, Texas (September 4) – Texas Woman’s University junior outside hitter/middle blocker Katie King (pictured) has been named a Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week (for the week of Aug. 27-Sep. 2) for her efforts at this past weekend’s TWU Tournament.
King’s play helped the Pioneers post a 2-2 record in their tournament. The Kaufman, Texas native totaled 52 kills and 55 points - both TWU team highs - in the Pioneers four matches played.
For the season, King leads TWU in kills (126), kills per game (4.34), total attacks (299), points (133.5) and points per game (4.60).
King and the Pioneers will be back in action on their home court this weekend when they host another TWU Tournament. On Friday, September 7, TWU will play Arkansas Tech at 1:30 p.m. and Dallas Baptist University at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 8, the Pioneers will meet the University of Arkansas-Monticello at 12:00 p.m. and Ouchita Baptist University at 5:00 p.m.
