HARLAN NAMED A LONE STAR CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON, Texas (October 15) – Texas Woman’s University freshman outside hitter Alyson Harlan has been named a Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week (for the week of Oct. 8-Oct. 14) for her efforts in the Pioneers’ recent matches versus West Texas A&M University and Eastern New Mexico University.
In a losing effort versus #16 West Texas A&M on Thursday, October 11, HarlaN (pictured) tallied three kills and one service ace. On Saturday, October 13, she delivered a school-record tying nine service aces, 16 kills, and three block assists in the Pioneers’ five-game win over Eastern New Mexico.
For the season, Harlan now has 104 kills, 21 service aces (the third most on the team), and 18 total blocks.
Harlan and the Pioneers, winners of three out of their last four matches, will be on the road for two matches this week. TWU visits Angelo State University on Thursday, October 18, and then plays at Abilene Christian University on Saturday, October 20.
