VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
DENTON , Texas – Krystle Everett and Heather Marcus were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, in the Lone Star Conference North Division for the week of Sept. 4, 2006.
Everett, a 5-11 sophomore outside hitter from Crandall, Texas, recorded a total of 51 kills with 16 errors on 129 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .271 in 14 games last week. In the Lone Star Conference/Heartland Conference Challenge, Everett had her season-best in kills with 16 over Dallas Baptist University. She followed that up with 15 kills each against St. Edward’s University and the University of the Incarnate Word.
Marcus, a 5-8 junior defensive specialist from Arlington, Texas, recorded 71 digs and averaged 5.07 digs per game in 14 games. She also added three aces.
