PIONEERS PERFECT AT A&M-COMMERCE TOURNEY

COMMERCE, Texas. – The Texas Woman’s University volleyball team won two more matches Saturday at the Texas A&M-Commerce Tournament. The Pioneers finished the two-day tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

On Saturday, TWU (6-3) got three-game wins over UT-Tyler and Tarleton State University.

"There aren't many weekends when you go 4-0," TWU head coach Shelly Barberee said. "Everyone saw the court this weekend and it showed how versatile we can be. The whole team contributed this weekend."

The Pioneers defeated UT-Tyler 30-22, 33-31, 30-13. Sophomore Madlyn Craven finished with double digit kills and freshman Abby Arledge played well defensively. In the second match, TWU downed Tarleton State 30-25, 30-25, 30-24.

"We played really well all three games of that Tarleton match," Barberee stated. "That was probably our most difficult match of the weekend and we stepped up."

TWU will be back at home Wednesday to host Huston-Tillotson at 6 p.m.
