Building Tomorrow's Future
Building Leaders ...
Winning Championships ... One Student Athlete at a Time.
TWU student-athletes have provided us with many
unforgettable memories, but the mark they leave doesn't end with
their athletic achievements. Texas Woman's University is proud of
the many former
student-athletes who have used the quality education
they received at TWU to build successful and rewarding careers in
the public and private sectors.
Contributions to the Pioneer Athletics Fund
guarantee that deserving Pioneer student-athletes receive the
scholarship assistance they need TODAY, to build the future they
deserve TOMORROW!
fact:
For the past 21 years, the cumulative GPA for all TWU teams has
never dropped below 3.0.

challenging atmosphere and has a great health science background.
Since I have been here I have cherished the friendships that I
have made with professors and fellow students. It is a place that
makes you feel welcome the minute you step on the campus.

Softball
I chose to come to Texas Woman's
University, not only to play softball at the collegiate level,
but also to further my education in an environment suitable for
me. TWU is a welcoming and small community, which helps me feel
at home. Having the opportunity to be a part of this university,
I have had many unforgettable memories and formed many lifelong
friendships on and off the field.

Volleyball
I chose to come to TWU to play
volleyball not only for the great coaching staff, but also for
the phenomenal people that I would be surrounded with. TWU has
provided me with everything I need in order to be successful when
I leave. I know I could not do it without the support that I
receive.

Gymnastics
I came to Texas Woman's University
to further pursue my gymnastics career, to expand my intellect
and to develop leadership skills that will help me become a more
prominent individual in my future profession. I wanted to be a
part of what TWU had to offer, not only in the arena, but also in
the classroom.
fact: Approximately
75 student-athletes from across the United States and Canada
participate in the TWU Pioneer Athletics program.
Erica
Butler Soccer
I came to Texas Woman's University
because the facilities are so nice and I really clicked with my
coach. The soccer at TWU is competitive and the intensity level
is high. If it weren't for my athletics scholarship, I couldn't
have come to TWU. It really helps.
fact: 100
percent of your gift will benefit TWU student-athletes.
Thank you for taking time to find out more about TWU Athletics
and our gifted student-athletes. I think you will appreciate what
these young women sacrifice in order to earn a degree while
playing the sports they love.
We are most proud of the fact that TWU truly has
student-athletes whose focus is placed on academics
first. Our Pioneer teams have clearly proven this in the past 21
years that's 42 semesters by never dropping below a
cumulative grade point average of 3.0. We also want you to know
that in the past 12 years, six Pioneers have received prestigious
NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships, competitive awards given to student-athletes with impeccable academic
and athletic credentials to seek postgraduate degrees. Quite
impressive when you consider the incredible demands placed upon
today's student-athletes with classwork, lab time, practices,
travel, competitions and sometimes even a part-time job.
Each year, we face the enormous challenge of rewarding these
dedicated student-athletes with scholarship assistance. It costs
more than $350,000 annually to fully fund scholarships in all
five sports. Currently we are only able to provide $301,000
annually in athletic scholarships.
Our mission is clear, but we need your help to provide the
academic foundation that prepares a student-athlete for all of
life's endeavors. It is truly rewarding to see young women
receive a valuable education, earn a baccalaureate degree and
take with them a lifetime of unforgettable memories as a college
athlete.
Thank you for your continued support.
