CALLAHAN PICKED AS LSC SOUTH DIVISION HITTER OF THE WEEK
 DENTON, Texas (March 25) – Texas Woman’s University sophomore outfielder Billie Callahan has been named the Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter of the Week (for the week of Mar. 17-24) for her efforts in the Pioneers’ two games played on Thursday, March 20.
Callahan, a native of Austin, Texas, was the offensive catalyst for TWU in their two wins over the University of the Incarnate Word and East Central University. In the two games combined, she was 4-6 with four runs scored, two runs batted in, and two doubles.
Callahan (pictured) is now hitting .291 for the season with a TWU team-best eight doubles and 12 runs batted in.
The TWU softball team, winners of three out of their last five games played, will return to the field on Wednesday, March 26, when they host a doubleheader (at 5/7 p.m.) against Midwestern State University. The Pioneers will then travel to Durant, Oklahoma this weekend (Friday, March 28 - Sunday, March 30) to play seven games in the 2008 Lone Star Conference Softball Crossover Tournament.
